Experimental - UGBASIC!
I didn't think this would work, but it does!
UGBASIC isn't just one compiler, it first compiles the BASIC then it compiles using 3rd party tools for the target platform and output format 🤨
Unlike most of the platforms and compilers in the IDE, this doesn't use JS/WASM but a complex bit of shenanigans using my live Linux server. This means I might be setting myself up for some scary hosting invoices but it does mean that the compilation complexity is abstracted away and I have 3 platforms working with UGBASIC 😅
- C64
- Atari
- ZX Spectrum
Please have a play with it and let me know if it works for you :)
I have tried to run the Hello World (ugBASIC) and I get the following errors on the C64 and ZX Spectrum.
'Compilation failed with exit code 255 Stdout: exec /app/ugbc.c64: exec format error'
'Compilation failed with exit code 255 Stdout: exec /app/ugbc.zx: exec format error'
I am running this in Chrome.
Matt Armstrong my server ran out of space 😳 it should work now, I just cleared some space and ordered 25GB extra volume
Chris Garrett It works fine now. I checked out the 'Hello.ugb' and discovered that it is not read only and I managed to erase the code. I put it back to what I think it was. Are you able to set it to read only?
Matt Armstrong it copies the code to your local web browser storage, edit away!
