Beginner from Italy
Hi fellow retrocoders! I’m Alberto (Alby) from Italy. I grew up with the C64 and a cassette deck, using them mostly for gaming. Now that I’m 47, I’ve developed an interest in vintage computers—partly out of nostalgia—and I’d love to create some retro-style video games or small applications, even using modern tools. However, I’m a beginner with a lot to learn, and I’d also like to make some money from the apps or games I create.

This part is the most ambitious thing in the goals you mention, just having fun and learning is much, much easier :)
Very few people make more than a few dollars from retro because getting the word out is so hard without an existing massive audience or getting well connected with people who do.
Even Andy H gets paid in Jelly! (not joking, he really does)
Yes, the green jelly was the best.
